Driving Local Action through Innovation
The Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA), in collaboration with the WASH Innovation Hub (WIH) of the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), hosted the INK@WASH Summit in Goa on 13–14 February 2023.
The summit aimed to address critical water, sanitation, used water, and solid waste management challenges faced by Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Panchayats across Goa.
Connecting Innovators, Policymakers, and Enablers
As part of WIH’s commitment to fostering innovation among startups and MSMEs, INK@WASH Goa created a dynamic platform where state and local government officials, innovators, and funders came together to co-create practical solutions for Goa’s WASH sector.
The summit facilitated meaningful dialogue and partnerships, enabling innovators to directly engage with government functionaries and align their solutions to on-ground needs.
Event Highlights
● Participation of 300+ officials, innovators, and sector experts.
● Showcase of 50+ innovations through TEDx-style talks and exhibitions.
● Focus areas included:
● Municipal and plastic waste management
● Water and used water management
● Faecal sludge and septage management
● Water conservation and circular economy solutions
Building Partnerships for Impact
Following the summit, GSUDA expressed its intent to collaborate with innovators and enterprises to promote ease of doing business and accelerate the implementation of sustainable WASH solutions across Goa.
This outcome marks an important step toward building a vibrant innovation ecosystem that empowers local bodies to adopt scalable, technology-driven, and community-focused solutions.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Smt. Roopa Mishra, Joint Secretary & Mission Director – Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), in the presence of senior officials, innovators, and sector partners.
