Orientation on School Management, Leadership and Capacity Building for Headmasters and Faculty of Gurukulams, Ashram Schools of Tribal Welfare Department (TWD), GoAP on Academic, Administrative, Health and Tribal Culture Aspects

An online Orientation Programme on School Management, Leadership and Capacity Building was conducted for Headmasters and Faculty of Gurukulams and Ashram Schools under the Tribal Welfare Department (TWD), Government of Andhra Pradesh. The programme focused on academic, administrative, health, and tribal culture aspects, aiming to strengthen overall school governance.

 

As part of this initiative, CIPS received approximately 1,400 registrations from 9 Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) covering 13 districts across Andhra Pradesh. In addition, a Core Resource Group (CRG) comprising 45 experienced professionals from academic institutions of national repute, universities, and allied organizations was constituted to support the programme.

 

The orientation was conducted from 6th to 30th September 2021, with three sessions per day (2:00 PM to 5:30 PM), totalling 58 sessions. Each session addressed prioritized units within the respective modules and was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, enabling meaningful engagement and knowledge exchange.

 

This programme stands out as a large-scale, one-of-its-kind capacity-building initiative, undertaken to reorient Headmasters and senior teachers on comprehensive school governance, particularly in the context of school reopening after the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

The inaugural and valedictory sessions were graced by senior officials, including the Director, Tribal Welfare Department, GoAP; Director, School Education, GoAP; Secretary, Gurukulams, GoAP; and Director, CIPS. The efforts and outcomes of the programme were highly appreciated by the department.
