Awarding Innovations – 2024

The mission of the Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS), as a national body, is to help create and nurture a climate for accelerating and diffusing innovations in public systems. CIPS is dedicated to providing a platform for the emergence and cross-fertilization of innovative ideas by identifying, recognizing, promoting, and replicating innovations in public systems. To accomplish this mission CIPS has been honouring best innovative practices by scouting, and spawning new innovations for replication across states.

Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS) has been recognizing innovations through the “CIPS Innovation Awards Scheme”. The awards for the year 2024 shall cover innovations in public systems in the fields of Education, Environment, Health, Information Technology, Rural Development and Surveillance. Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad (www.asci.org.in) is the Knowledge Partner in implementing this award scheme.

The scheme is applicable to government agencies, public sector units (PSUs), NGOs, private organizations, and individuals from:

  • Districts sharing an international border
  • Union Territories
  • Northeastern States and
  • Hill States

Categories for the CIPS Innovation Awards – 2024

  1. Education
  2. Environment
  3. Health
  4. Information Technology
  5. Rural Development (Including rural technologies & Innovations in Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal husbandry, Fisheries, Sericulture, etc.)
  6. Surveillance

Eligibility:

  1. Government agencies, public sector units (PSUs), NGOs, private organizations, and individuals, who have spearheaded innovations at the village, block-level or district level
  2. Districts sharing international border, Union Territories, Northeastern and Hill States of India (please see Annexure – 1)
  3. Innovations should be in operation at least for a period of 2 years but not more than 5 years (i.e., not in vogue prior to 1st Jan 2018)
  4. The innovation should lend itself to replicability

Evaluation Criteria

  • Screening & Shortlisting of nominations
  • Evaluation of Shortlisted nominations through online presentations for spot study
  • Spot Studies
  • Selection of Awardees

Award Ceremony

A cash prize of Rs. 1.00 Lakh each and a citation will be given to the recipients during the awards ceremony to be held in February 2025.
